PARKER - ADOPTABLE

Parker is a delightful lowrider whose tail is twice as long as his legs.

 He looks to be a terrier X basset hound and is medium in both size and energy. 

He is happiest in the company of his people and is very loving and affectionate. He likes walks both long and short. 

Parker is fully crate trained, potty trained (he even has a potty cue on command!!)  and is working on his extended in home obedience - he’s very low key in the house. 

He walks incredible on leash, no pulling at all. BFF has worked diligently to make him a solid, furry companion.  He loves playing with his toys and eating snacks - he’s a bit of a gourmand.

 Parker would do best as the only animal in the house hold. 

Kids: Parker could be in a home with an older child, but generally speaking, he likes a calm household.  

Overall he’s a sweet soul just waiting to be found by his family.

Meet 1 year old handsome Ethan!

Ethan was found abandoned, living in bushes in California with a furry friend. He won the jackpot when he was found & rescued and has now made the long journey to Canada searching for his new family. 

He is not only a stunning little guy, but also a very loving boy and has made great strides with confidence since his arrival. 

Ethan sleeps in his crate at night without a peep. Toys are his favourite, even better when sharing them and playtime with a fur sibling.
He takes comfort snuggling with his foster pup sister. 

He loves his food and is very treat motivated, which will help with his continuation of training. He walks on leash albeit sometimes a little hesitantly while he is still adjusting to the hustle & bustle of his new environment. 

He travels in the car quietly and was very well behaved at his vet exam.

Ethan deserves nothing more than to find his special person/people that can be patient with him and allow his spunky personality to blossom!

Meet sweet Frida!

How can you not get mesmerized in her striking blue eyes! Frida is approximately 2-year-old chihuahua mix, medium sized at 23 lbs and medium energy level.

 She is housetrained, crate trained and great with other dogs. She rarely barks but may bow down and bark when enticing her pals to play. Toys are her FAVOURITE! 

Car rides are a breeze, and she is a great size for taking on outdoor adventures like hiking/beachcombing.

 She loves all people, could be a tad shy at first but that doesn’t last long at all, and she will be your best friend and soak up all the cuddles.  

She currently is living with 2 dog friendly cats and doing well, but may not be a great match for skittish or shy cats. 

Frida is super smart, great on the leash and very treat/food motivated. 

She can run at lightening speed and loves to play with her foster siblings in the yard.

Meet Simba! 🐾

Simba is a 14-lb terrier mix, approximately 8 years old, and the sweetest little boy you could ever meet! Though he may be a bit shy at first, with a little patience, he’ll open up and become the happiest, most loving companion.

Simba adores being outside and going for walks, though he’s still figuring out how to navigate indoor stairs. He’s almost fully potty trained and is a well-mannered little guy.

This gentle pup gets along wonderfully with other dogs—he loves to play and follow them around, always eager to make new friends. 

His affectionate nature and special little spark make him impossible not to love. Belly rubs are his absolute favorite, and he enjoys curling up on the couch for some cozy snuggles.

Simba is fully crate trained, settling in easily at night or when left alone. 

He’s a calm and respectful houseguest, never destructive—just happy to relax on the rug and wait for your return.

11 months old | Lab/shepherd Mix | 45 lbs

Brandy is a stunning, 11 month old lab/shepherd/terrier mix. She has a wonderful playful and goofy personality. She loves her humans, while it takes a minute for her to warm up, when you’re in, you’re in. She is both independent, and soft and loving. Brandy could be in a home with another dog with the right temperament, or as a solo dog. Cats unsure, small dogs probably not because she’s clumsy!!
Kids no.

Brandy is highly trainable and LOVES working. She has had an extensive board and train compliments of her rescue and we need a human who can upkeep her skills this far.

She could live in an apartment, a condo or a stand-alone house, but would do well with an active family! Hikers? Walkers? Outdoorsy folks? Brandy is your girl.

Brandy will require an adult only home or a family with kids 16 and older.
She is fully crate trained, has stellar obedience. She does an amazing job relaxing in the house when it’s time to chill. She does not exhibit any signs of resource guarding or separation anxiety.

Brandy will require a home either with experience with dogs with drive (hello shepherd people!!) a decent foundation on leash handling skills, or someone who is super willing to learn and hold her accountable when needed.

In short, brandy is an absolute diamond in the rough. From a high kill shelter in California, nervous and shut down, to a playful, silly, happy young dog in Canada, brandy is just waiting to be scooped up by the perfect match. She’s an absolute joy - we’re so excited for her forever home to find her.

Meet Porter!

Porter is a striking 2 year old long-coated Doberman with a big personality to match his large frame (65-70 lbs). 

He was surrendered in California after his previous owner struggled with his training, but since then, he has made great progress with us at BFF.

Porter is a fun-loving, goofy dog who will thrive with an experienced and confident handler—someone dedicated to continuing the structured training he has received so far. 

His leash skills are excellent, and he’s fully housebroken and crate-trained. He knows his basic obedience commands and does not exhibit resource guarding or separation anxiety.

Ideal home for Porter: 

✅ No young kids
❓ Cats are uncertain (we’re open to testing, but suspect he may not be a good fit)
🚫 No other dogs at this time
🏡 A standalone home or townhome (no apartments/condos)—not because he needs a yard, but because elevators might be challenging for him.

Porter tends to feel more secure around women, and we have been working on building his confidence with men. With continued patience and structure, he will continue to grow into the incredible companion we know he can be.

As a Doberman, Porter exhibits many breed-typical traits—Dobermans were originally bred for working roles such as police, military, and service work, which makes them highly intelligent and driven. Because of this, Porter needs a committed owner who understands and respects the needs of a working breed.

We are deeply invested in Porter’s success, so we are looking for an adopter who is equally committed to his ongoing training and well-being.

Meet Maurice – A Resilient, Loving Companion

Maurice is a 3-year-old Maltese mix with a heart full of love and a story of survival. Found on the streets of California in terrible condition, he was so severely matted that he could barely see. After receiving much-needed medical care, Maurice’s sweet personality began to shine.

Despite his tough past, Maurice is a playful and affectionate little guy. He adores mealtime and won’t hesitate to give you a little bark to remind you when it's time to eat. He loves cuddles, enjoys being pampered during baths and trims, and is learning to socialize with other dogs. City noise doesn’t bother him, and he thrives in a calm, low-activity environment.

Maurice has been diagnosed with heart disease and is on lifelong medication, with a prognosis of up to two years. He is now searching for his last forever home—a safe and loving place where he can be cherished for the rest of his days. If you're looking for a sweet, easygoing companion to shower with love, Maurice is ready to be by your side.

Meet Dasher (though he definitely looks like a "Hank")!

This 44lb low-rider is a shy, timid boy with a heart of gold. It may take time to earn his trust, but once you do, the reward is immeasurable—his cuddles are pure magic. His happy dance alone is enough to brighten anyone’s day, a goofy little jig that will leave you grinning.

Dasher is quiet and gentle, with soulful eyes and hilariously expressive eyebrows that seem to say, “I’m not mad, just disappointed.” His unique build—a big head, long body, and adorably stubby legs—only adds to his charm.

While he may have had a tough past, Dasher is ready for a future filled with love and patience. He does best in a calm home with another confident dog to show him the ropes. 

He’s housebroken once settled, sleeps soundly through the night, and has shown no aggression. Though he’s not strongly food-motivated, he is motivated by trust and kindness.
