Meet our tiniest 2 year old Craisin. 

Little Craisin is the smallest little girl, and weighs only 5lbs. 

Craisin was found living outside in a big open field with her sister and another little dog. Our wonderful rescue partner in California went out to trap and rescue them. First she got the other two dogs, but little Craisin was smarter than the other two and it took several days until she finally went in the trap and she was safe! 

A short time after little Craisin came in to our rescue and is currently living in a foster home with a big female dog named Molly and our other rescue girl Ruru.

Craisin ADORES people and wants all the attention. So we're thinking she'd do best in a home where she's the only dog. Another exception to that would be with a relaxed big male dog. She's a big fan of them. 

Craisin is ready for her forever home, and can't wait to find her person that she can snuggle and love, forever.

Little Daisy is 4 years old and ended up at the shelter after she was found wandering the streets of California.

Now Daisy is being loved immensely by her wonderful foster family.

Daisy is a huuuge snuggler, can't stand the Vancouver rain and just wants to be with her person. 

She is being fostered in a home with another big dog + cat. She doesn't love the bigger dog, but they get along enough to leave each other alone. She doesn't seem to care about cats.  

Daisy's ideal home would probably be as the only dog, or with a smaller doggie friend or cat. 

She is ok to be left alone, when loose in the house. She's also working on her potty training, and is doing very well so far. 

Crate isn't an option for Daisy. So her forever family needs to be open to her sleeping in bed with them.

Our wonderful 3 year old Shorty. 

Shorty was dumped by his own owner by a canal, and was rescued by our rescue partner in California when someone called her. There he was lying, in the ditch. He didn't move, he was so scared. So she picked him up and he is now forever safe. 

Shorty clearly shows us he has been through a lot, and is going to take some time to heal from what his owner did to him. 

He is currently being fostered by his wonderful foster family, and has a little foster brother named Opie. 

He is slowly settling in, and wants to just be held and feel cared for. 

He is an amazing jumper, and if you just bend down a tiny bit, he will jump right up in your lap. It's the cutest thing. 

Shorty's ideal home would be in a calm, relaxed and loving home. With or without a small furry friend. 

Shorty deserves to be loved endlessly, snuggled lots, held, loved, squeeeezed! 

An absolute must for Shorty: to sleep with you in your bed. No crate, no dog bed, in your bed with you.

Petunia is not just any Chihuahua; she's a little bundle of love waiting to brighten your life with her delightful presence.  Petunia (Tuna for short) is a sweet 4 year old rescue who adores human companionship. Whether you need a cuddle partner, a walking buddy, or just someone to make your day better, Petunia is always there with open paws. She loves sitting in anybody’s lap and will fall asleep in your arms if you let her.  

She is the perfect “work from home” dog as she is very quiet and when left alone she goes to her kennel to sleep. 

She enjoys chasing toys, going for walks, and would make an excellent companion for those who lead semi-active lifestyle. Though at first she is shy, once she warms up to you, she will be flopping over to her belly rubs and hugs.

 She's great with kids and other pets as long as she is properly introduced to them.

Meet the wonderful little Maxy girl. 

Maxy was owner surrendered to the shelter on August 22nd. The shelter was full so Maxy got put in a small pop up crate in the hallway at the shelter, and there she sat for days, until we were asked to please take this little girl in, so we did. 

From there Maxy got spayed, vet checked, vaccinated, chipped, dewormed and flea/thick prevention. A little while later she found herself on transport all the way to Vancouver BC. Shortly after coming off transport she gave endless kisses and ran around in happiness, she knew she was safe! 

Little Maxy is 1.5 years old and got long Bambi legs. She still has to put some weight on as she's a little too skinny. Her foster parents are teaching her basic commands like sit, lie down and shake a paw + where to go potty. She is picking it up fast, and seems to be a clever little girl! She loves to snuggle up with both her foster parents, and she loves to do little zoomies around the house. 

Maxy as an active girl and needs a home who’s ready to let her sprint and play! When she’s gotten her exercise, she happily lies down with you and snuggles.

Maxy is fostered in Coquitlam.

Henry is the sweetest happiest boy looking for his forever home.

He was found as a stray in California, and from there he was picked up by animal control, and taken in to the shelter. How someone could of abandon such a loving, happy boy, we don't know, but we're so happy he is now safe.

Henry is an active boy who would love to come for hikes and daily walks with his person. After his walks he happily relaxes at home, or plays with some of his toys. His foster mom says he would be wonderful in a home with another dog about his size, but would also be just fine on his own.

He is fully housebroken and picks up on things quickly! He loves to go for walks, play with his toys and snuggle. Henry loves most dogs, but there are some is unsure of, so foster mom is working on that part with him.

Henry has only love and tail wags to give, and he can't wait to soon be so lucky to find his forever home, and never have to wonder where home is, ever again.

Puppy Penny is a Riverside Shelter survivor.

She is 7 months old and is a bundle of snuggles and energy!
Penny is a brave and confident little girl who loves to play with other dogs.

She is spayed, vaccinated, heart-worm tested, dewormed, flea/thick prevention and is fully ready for her new home.

Penny would love a home where she gets lots of walks, endless love and somewhere she can always rely on.

Meet our sweetest rescue boy, Bill!

Bill is 2 years old and is a chihuahua/beagle mix, and was rescued from Riverside Shelter in California.

Bill loves to give kisses to his foster dad, and walks very well on leash!
He's an active boy, and would love a home where he gets a good amount of exercise. When foster dad brings him in the car, he loves looking out the window to see where he is going! Adventures? Count Bill in! Snuggles? Yes anytime!

He loves small dogs, but is a little more particular when it comes to the bigger ones. So a home with a small dog, or no dog would be best for this boy.

Little 6 lbs Tudy is an angel sent from heaven. 

She was found in a field, living outside for over 2 months. Desperately trying to find a safe place to be at night when the coyotes came out to hunt. She went to nearby houses, and would sleep outside their garage. Eventually someone called for help, and a wonderful woman came to rescue her. She set up a trap as Tudy was way too scared to come up to her. As soon as she smelled the fresh chicken the nice woman has brought, she went right in to the trap, and from that day she was safe. 

Barney's Furry friends welcomed little Tudy in to our rescue and she arrived to Vancouver on September 14th. Every person she touched along the way, from the lady who rescued her, the lady who transported her, me included , to her foster mom, she touched every one of us with so much love, we all wanted to keep her. An angel sent from heaven. One day with foster mom, and she was adopted. Foster mom couldn't resist her loving being, and from there sweet Tudy got her forever happy home together with her sister Pepper. Happy life sweet angel, you're so loved, and will forever be safe and cared for. 

Sweet Kody was found walking the streets of California, and was brought in to the shelter by a field officer.

From there he made his way to Coquitlam to Barney's Furry Friends Rescue on August 20th, and is now being fostered by his lovely foster mom in Chilliwack.

Kody is a very sweet boy that loves affection, and is very friendly with both people and dogs.

Kody is looking for someone to love and spoil him rotten on his older days.
He has lots of love to give, and can't wait to finally find his last, and forever home.

Stitch wandered the streets of California, when someone kind decided to bring him to Riverside Shelter. When we saw him listed on the shelter website, we instantly fell in love, and decided he was coming in to our care at Barney's Furry Friends. After 2 weeks at a boarding kennel, Stitch finally made his way to Vancouver on August 20th.

Stitch is a very loving and sweet boy. He loves to play with other dogs, and does great with cats as well.
He is an active boy and will require a home where he gets plenty of walks and exercise!

Stitch is looking for his forever family, where he knows he is safe & loved, for the rest of his life.

Milo is a Riverside Shelter survivor, and only weighs 12 lbs! He is a big snuggle bug, and loves to cuddle up with his foster mom. He is 1 years old, and a chihuahua/rat terrier mix. 

Milo is both dog and people friendly! 

He's quite active and would love a home where he gets plenty of exercise.

Ice is a 2 year old sweet little boy who lived outside a car-tire shop in California. After a long time living outside the shop, Ice's fur was severely matted, and someone called and asked if we could please help little Ice.

Ice got a much deserved spa day, and got all his fur shaved off, and is now feeling much lighter, and not to talk about handsome!

Ice arrived in to Vancouver on August 20th, and is settling well in to his fosterhome. He is a total snuggle bug and loooves affection.

He is a little shy with people at first, but it doesn't take long before he asks for some snuggles. He is also very good with kids, and loves other dogs!

Thomas is a 16lbs bundle of PURE joy! He is only 7 months old, and came to Canada on August 20th. 

Thomas was found as a stray on the street in California, and got taken in to Riverside Shelter. When we saw his adorable shelter photo, we contacted the shelter immediately and said we want to save Thomas! 

Thomas is being fostered in Port Coquitlam, and has settled in to his foster home well. He is playful, funny and just a bundle of joy. Whoever gets to be Thomas's forever person will be very lucky, as he will radiate nothing but joy and happiness for the rest of his life.

Sweet Toby arrived to Vancouver June 8th and became a member of Barney's Furry Friends rescue.

Toby is 3 years old and a toy poodle/terrier mix.

The sweetest boy!
Toby is very playful and energetic. He loves playing with toys and people. He is very affectionate and loves getting cuddles. He’s good on leash and has energy to go on longer walks if desired. He is a good listener and is very receptive when called. He’s smart boy and a quick learner, current commands: sit,” & come.
Toby is working on crate training and is doing well.

Toby is being fostered in North Vancouver.

Once upon a time there was a little boy named Patch. He wandered the streets of California for so long his pads were worn down and he was just skin and bones  when someone loving and kind picked him up and brought him to the shelter. 

There his time was running out and he heard there was a big truck coming to get 25 other dogs and bring them to a place called Beautiful British Columbia. That sounded very inviting, so he barked enough until someone at the shelter heard him and asked the lady who was picking up all the other dogs if she could be so kind and bring Patch too. Barney's Furry Friends Rescue got contacted and asked if we could save this little boy, and we said yes!  No more roaming the streets alone fighting for food, dogs barking non stop at the shelter and a cold cement floor to sleep on. 

Patch is 3 years old and weighs 11 lbs. He is very underweight and we are feeding him well hoping he'll gain weight soon. 

Patch is very good with children, and loves to play with them. He is a couch potato at home, and definitely carries the greyhound traits there. He listens well, and is picking up on commands quickly. Patch is also very affectionate and makes sure to give you lots of kisses. 

He is being loved endlessly by his wonderful fosters in downtown Vancouver and is waiting to see who will be his forever family.

Milo is a top tier cuddle bug! After being found as a stray in California, Milo’s been spending his days trying to make up for all the cuddles he missed out on in his early life. We don’t know a lot about Milo before he made his way to his foster home in PoCo, but we do know that he is eager to meet new friends now!

Milo adores people and goes up to them to say hi. He is also keen on making new doggy friends! He lives with two dogs in his foster home and gets along with them well, but we think he’d be just as happy to be the only dog in the house, as long as you give him ample belly rubs! When you’re not busy cuddling together, Milo loves going for walks. He’s still unsure about high-traffic areas, but is easily reassured.

Milo hasn’t been tested with kids or cats, but if you’re interested in him and have kids or cats, we will do our best to test him with them. We think that Milo would do well in a house or an apartment, but after so much time spent with doggie companions, he might need some time to adjust and learn that being alone isn’t so scary.

Max is a Riverside Shelter survivor. He came in to our rescue on June 30th 2023, just in time for Canada Day! 

Max is 9 months old and is definitely in his puppy era. He is ultra friendly, and wags his tail happily everyday.

He loves kids and would make a great family dog. He loves to play, chew pinecones, sticks and definitely needs an active home. 

He's also clever, and is learning fast. 

Max is looking for his forever home, and is fostered in Burnaby.

Ollie (or Ollie-pop as Foster mom nicknamed him), is one of the sweetest dogs you’ll ever meet! We don’t know much about Ollie’s past in California, but we know that he has a lot of love to give (and receive) in his future BC home.

Since being rescued from a dog-hoarder in May, Ollie has spent his time in a foster home in Coquitlam. His favourite things in the world are being scratched, sitting on his foster parent’s laps, going for walks, and figuring out how to get all the treats out of his treat ball. Ollie is still quite timid with new people and in new surroundings, but he is more trusting and brave each and every day.

Ollie walks well on a leash, is mostly house trained, doesn’t show signs of separation anxiety, and knows basic commands like “sit” and “down”. He’s a fast learner, especially if there are duck treats involved! Ollie’s exercise schedule is adaptable - he’s happy with a couple short walks a day, but has no problem with heading out hiking for a couple hours! Mostly though, Ollie is happy to do whatever you’re doing, as long as there aren’t too many strangers around. Whether it’s hiking or hanging out on the couch, he’s your guy!

We think Ollie would be best suited to a quiet home, with older kids (13+) only (he’s still not sure what the tiny energy-filled humans are all about!). Ollie would do well with another dog, he loves almost every dog he meets and comes out of his shell more with another confident dog around, but we think he’d be fine as an only dog as well. Ollie has met cats and shown mild interest, but no intent to chase.

Mr Felix is a certified good boy! Since being rescued from a dog hoarder in late May, Felix has travelled from California to BC in search of the good life. Luckily for Felix, he’s been hanging out in a loving foster home in Coquitlam, learning all about what it means to be a member of the family.

Felix’s absolute favourite thing is sitting on someone’s lap and receiving all the love and affection they can offer - if he doesn’t think they’re giving him just enough scritches, he will ask for more! When he’s not sitting on your lap, Felix will be following you around, happy to go wherever you do and do whatever you like - whether that’s a long walk, or just simply snuggling up for cuddles. Felix is still coming out of his shell, but each day he learns more about what the good life is all about.

We think Felix would do well in a family home with kids over 8, with a couple, or individual. It will take Felix some time to adjust, especially to younger kids, but his current foster family has a 9-year-old that he loves. Felix is easily won over with treats, and will take them from just about anyone! We think Felix would do well with another dog, but he could also be the only dog in the household. Felix has met cats and shown mild interest, but no intent to chase.

Peanut Butter arrived March 31st with his brother Snow. They came all the way from California rescued from a hoarding situation. 

Peanut Butter is approximately 6 months old and is unlike his brother Snow, a little more outgoing! He loves to play with other dogs, and is quite the funny character. 

Since he's spent his entire life indoors with many dogs, he prefers dogs over people. His foster dad is working on getting him used to trusting new people, and brings him to work during the week. 

Peanut Butter lives with a 9 year old boy, that he has fallen in love with. So Peanut Butter will most likely do well with children in his forever home.

Little Arlo arrived in Coquitlam March 31st with his brother Peanut Butter. 

Arlo and his brother were rescued from a hoarding situation in California. 

Arlo is approximately 6 months old and came in very timid. He loves to be snuggled and adores his foster mom who is giving him all the love, space and care in the world.

Arlo will need some time to come out of his shell, but once he does he will bloom into the most beautiful loving dog we know is in him.

Cookie Dough is our very special first rescue who came all the way from Bakersfield in CA to Vancouver BC in Canada March 4th 2023. 

Cookie Dough is approximately 1 years old, and was found as a stray. He was then taken in to the shelter, and from there we rescued him. 

CD loves to snuggle, and won't accept anything less than sleeping right next to you at night, and on the couch beside you during the day. He is a little unsure of stairs, so he's practicing that with his foster dad. He is also getting more and more comfortable with other dogs. His bestfriend is Lexi, a big pitbull at foster dad's work.

He loves children, and is currently living with one child. After 15 minutes of walking he asks you to pick him up, he hasn't come to Canada to walk.. a lot. Being carried on the other hand, that he'll allow all day.
